WELCOME TO THE TEXAS SOCIETY WEBSITE

The National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century is an organization of women, eighteen years of age or over, who are lineal descendants of an ancestor who lived and served prior to 1701 in one of the Original Colonies in the geographical area of the present United States of America.  Our members are devoted to preserving the memory of these ancestors.

There are 30 chapters in the Texas Society where our more than 1,200 members from all walks of life form lasting friendships through their common interest in colonial heritage, history, and heraldry.  We work together to provide for the preservation of historic sites and records, and for the support of scholarships, charitable projects, and community service.

The Texas Society was formally chartered on 13 May 1942 by Mrs. Alice Leila Price. A total of 163 members signed our State Charter, including the President General, Mrs. John Samuel Adams of Georgia.

We encourage you to contact a chapter near you to learn more about becoming a member of the Texas Society Colonial Dames XVII Century.  All inquiries concerning our organization are answered promptly.

In Dames Friendship,

Charissa "Chris" Stubbs Womack
Texas State President
